Engineer M.S. Rweyemamu

Board Chairman

Engineer M.S. Rweyemamu joined Imperial Construction Co. board as chairman in 2014, after graduating from Institute of Automobile Technology, Moscow Russia in 1984, with MSc (MECH) Engineering with honors; Eng. Rweyemamu has worked with the Tanzania Ministry of Communication & Works, Plant and Equipment Hire Co. Ltd. (PEHCOL) as a director and is currently sitting on the Board of Mwanachi Ltd.

He has co-founded Unicool East Africa a Tanzanian leading cooling service engineering and MEX Group and now holding a wide variety of assignments in the delivery and management board of Imperial Construction Co.’s work.

Davith (Dave) Kahwa, MIoD

Board Director & Finance Director

One of founding members of Creditinfo Tanzania Limited and Creditinfo Credit Reference Bureau Kenya Limited. Prior to that, founded Equip GRC – a boutique advisory firm dedicated to partner with clients to address governance, risk management and compliance challenges. My career also includes 6 years with KPMG and 2 years with Barclays Africa Group with progressive responsibilities.Founding member of the Institute of Directors in Tanzania, member of the Institute of Directors (United Kingdom) and the Institute of Directors in Southern Africa.

Fellow of the Africa Leadership Initiative (East Africa) and a member of the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN)- worldwide community of entrepreneurial leaders from business, government and the non-profit sector – who share a commitment to enlightened leadership and to using their extra-ordinary creativity, energy and resources to tackle the foremost societal challenges of our times.Committed to economic and social development. My management style is collaborative and I like to empower the people that I work with.

Faraja F. Massawe

Managing Director

Fuelled by the entrepreneurial spirit and vigorous passion for the Construction Industry. In this endeavor, multiple projects have been brought to life such as rental properties both commercial and residential in the heart of Dar es Salaam, creation of schools and a sport facility. Holding a law degree focusing on international trade as well as MBA from The University of Cape Town Town, Faraja F Massawe has the knowledge and skills set needed to facilitate any task at hand.

Always with a sharp eye and keen determination for developing, moving and growing further, Faraja took on a new venture and started Imperial Construction Co. Company Ltd. Mr Faraja Faustine Massawe co founded Prestige and Hausting Capital a rm dedicated to develop lower and middle income housing in urban and rural Tanzania. Mr Faraja has successfully managed several projects within Imperial Construction Co. of which have been of great success, such as Sea View Tower, Elizabeth Cort and John Garang Memorial University Teacher’s Housing Estate based in Southern Sudan to mention a few.

Engineer Mariam M. Rweyemamu

Executive Director Operations

Eng. Mariam is the executive director for operations and regional projects. Mariam joined Imperial Construction Co. in 2014 as a field engineer and head of operations. After graduating BEng (Civil Engineering) University of Nottingham she has since held a number of operations positions, including heading the structural design department, supervision and construction administration. Mariam worked as head of structural design for TANCONSULT as Civil/Structural engineer from September 2010 September 2013.

Her expertise include Supervisions of the structural works and design for the Construction of the iconic National Microfinance Bank (NMB) Headquarters in Dar  esSalaam.

The design/build collaboration of a 120,000 sq. ft., 12-story steel frame dormitory building the Bank of Tanzania Regional Director Complex. Supervision of structural work and design work for mega Construction of Local Authorities Pension Fund (LAPF) Headquarters in Dodoma. However she has continued to maintain the company sustainability and compliance to the highest standards.

Nils Forrelokken

Senior Project Manager

Nils joined Imperial Construction Co. in 2014 as a senior project manager, and he has since held a number of operational positions, including superintendent, purchasing agent, and project executive. In 2009 Nils acted as construction manager on a 100,000 m2 shopping mall in Kristiansand, Norway, then acting for Bermingrud, one of Norway’s largest construction companies. He has worked on a number of other large-scale residential projects across Norway.

He has particular experience from the offshore oil & gas sector where he has worked as project manager on

multiple offshore construction projects across the North Sea, North America and South East Asia.

Some of these projects have been pioneering projects within their respective disciplines, such as the Draugen oil platform which still today holds the record as the world’s largest stand-alone, single shaft concrete gravity based structure. On the Draugen platform, Nils was responsible for the construction of the heliport (1993). And now oversees management of Imperial Construction Co. UNAMID projects in North Sudan and South Sudan stations. Prior working for Imperial Construction Co. 2013-2014 Nils worked as Country Manager in Tanzania for a European EPC construction company focusing on telecom infrastructure.
